Musė and Pupsis Šunėnas, entrepreneurs and residents of Nyciai village, jumped at the chance to drive their car straight to the town of Kupiškis, as the traditional Autumn Festival was taking place there that very day. It was also a perfect opportunity to meet up amidst the fair crowd with their son, Raigardas Šunėnas—whom they rarely saw in person due to the demands of their respective businesses. And that is exactly what happened. The town’s Autumn Fair in the central square greeted the couple not only with a massive crowd and a wide array of goods for sale but also with loud speeches and songs ringing out in all directions from the large stage set up in the square. A cluster of vendors' tents lined the edge of the square, while rows of seats were arranged in the center, facing the stage.
